| Gardening at USask is a free public resource that includes a comprehensive website, a very active Facebook Page, a YouTube channel, selected free classes year-roung, public speaking engagements, and a Gardenline support person to personally help you during the growing season. The UofS supports year round free education primarily through public workshop series of live webinars and on-demand classes. They offer a Master Gardener certification program.The University of Saskatchewan is an important support for the Saskatchewan Horticulture Society provincially and for our Regina Horticulture Society, giving us access to speakers and valuable knowledge. |
Local Horticulture Groups and Resources
- Saskatchewan Horticulture Association the RHS is a member of the association. There are 19 member horticultural and garden society groups. The objective of the SHA is to promote the interests of horticulture generally, and Horticultural Societies in Saskatchewan. https://skhorticultural.com/index.html
- The Regina Floral Conservatory is Regina’s premier indoor garden space, operated by volunteers with the Regina Garden Associates, a non-profit charitable organization, in partnership with the City of Regina. Open daily from September to June, visitors can experience the therapeutic effects of lush greenery, colourful flowers, and the scents of the tranquil garden seven days a week. https://reginafloralconservatory.ca/
- Nature Regina, a volunteer-driven charitable organization, has been fostering a greater interest in and understanding and enjoyment of all aspects of the natural environment, as well as the protection and conservation of natural systems. We offer presentations, field trips, education programs and environmental advocacy to instill a greater appreciation of nature. Everyone is welcome to attend our events.
- Ashley Esakin Hailing from Saskatoon, Ashley has had a passion for plants since she was a small child. She followed this love of greenery to the University of Saskatoon, where she earned a science degree, with a major in soil science. Ashley brings together her knowledge of science with her love of gardening as host of her YouTube channel “Gardening in Canada”.
